On the 2nd of August, the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament gathered at St. Thomas’s Church, Matale, to celebrate the solemn feast of St. Peter Julian Eymard. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr. Justin Chawkan, SSS, the Provincial Superior. In his homily, he highlighted the progressive stages of the various struggles Fr. Eymard underwent to spread the Eucharistic mission in France and around the world.
During this holy mass, five gifted scholastics, namely Bros. Asirri, Nelson, Heshan, Patrick, and Nijistan, renewed their vows, while Bro. Johnson, after a brief period of a re-entry program, made his first profession in the Congregation. In view of future priesthood, Bros. Asiri and Nelson were also conferred with the ministry of acolyte. We enjoyed the warm welcome and hospitality of the Matale Community and parishioners. Fr. Manuel looked into all the liturgical arrangements of the day.
