About Our Founder

Born on February 4, 1811, in La Mure, France, Peter Julian Eymard was raised in a devout family that instilled in him a strong foundation of faith. At a young age, he felt a calling to serve God, and his path eventually led him to the priesthood. Ordained in 1834, he embarked on his journey as a priest, dedicating himself to the service of God and humanity.

St. Peter Julian Eymard’s profound devotion to the Eucharist became the cornerstone of his life and ministry. He believed that the Eucharist was the source and summit of the Christian faith, the real presence of Christ in the consecrated bread and wine. He saw the Eucharist as the sacrament of Christ’s abiding love, a means to encounter the living God.

In 1856, St. Peter Julian Eymard founded the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, also known as the Sacramentinos. The congregation was established with the primary mission of making the Eucharist known, loved, and lived. Through this religious community, St. Eymard aimed to spread his profound devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and inspire others to embrace the Eucharist as the source of spiritual nourishment and grace.

St. Peter Julian Eymard’s teachings emphasize the significance of the Eucharist in the life of a Christian. He encouraged believers to participate in the Holy Mass regularly, to spend time in Eucharistic adoration, and to receive the Eucharist with deep reverence and faith. Through his writings and sermons, he fervently expressed the importance of adoring Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.
