Ordination to the Diaconate – Rev. Bro. Nelson, SSS

The Province of Christ the Bread if life rejoiced on October 27, 2024, as Rev. Bro. Nelson, SSS, was ordained a Deacon by Rt. Rev. Dr. Winston Fernando, SSS. The sacred ceremony was held at the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament Scholasticate in Ampitya, Kandy, amid an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude.

The ordination marked a significant milestone, not only for Bro. Nelson but for the entire Province of Christ the Bread of life. The presence of 23 priests from various SSS communities reflected the deep respect and admiration for Bro. Nelson and the confidence placed in his ministry.

As part of his diaconal ministry, Bro. Nelson will serve in a series of parishes, dedicating two months to each community. His journey begins at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Tangalle, followed by Christ the King Church, Warakapola, and concludes at St. Philip Neri’s Church, Pettah.

Bro. Nelson’s unwavering dedication to the Gospel and his commitment to selfless service make him a source of inspiration and hope for the communities he will serve. As he embarks on this sacred journey, his ministry promises to be a profound blessing to all who encounter him.
