Bro.Tiyok Makes His First Religious Profession in the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament – March 1, 2025
On March 1, 2025, a momentous and joyous event unfolded at the Novitiate in Matale, as Bro.
Tiyok made his First Religious Profession in the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament,
Province of Christ the Bread of Life. This profound milestone marked a significant step in Bro.
Tiyok’s spiritual journey and his dedication to a life devoted to God and serving His people.
The sacred ceremony took place during the celebration of the Holy Mass, which was presided
over by the Very Reverend Father Justin Chawhan, Provincial Superior of the Congregation of
the Blessed Sacrament in Sri Lanka. Surrounded by his formators and the religious community,
Bro. Tiyok professed his vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, formally embracing the way
of life within the Blessed Sacrament Congregation.
A Deep Commitment to the Eucharistic Life
The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament is renowned for its profound devotion to
The Eucharist and its mission to deepen the relationship between Christ and the faithful in the
Blessed Sacrament. Brother Tiyok’s profession marks the beginning of his lifelong journey of
service and spiritual growth within this Eucharistic family, following in the footsteps of Saint
Peter Julian Eymard, the Congregation’s founder.
The Holy Mass and the Blessing of Vows
The day commenced with the Holy Mass, during which Father Justin Chawhan delivered an
inspiring homily about the essence of religious life and the significance of the vows. In his
address, Father Justin urged Brother Tiyok to remain steadfast in his devotion to the Eucharist
and to live a life characterized by prayer, humility, and service. He emphasized the joy found in
serving God within the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and the importance of the
Eucharist in the Church’s life and mission.
In the presence of the gathered community, Brother Tiyok publicly proclaimed his vows of
poverty, chastity, and obedience, wholeheartedly committing himself to the Eucharistic mission
of the Congregation. The community joined in prayer, invoking God’s blessings to guide Brother
Tiyok as he embraces his new way of life with faithfulness, dedication, and love.
