Our lady of Holy Rosary Church – Bandirippuwa

The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament established its first community in Bandirippuwa in the year 1998 at the invitation of His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Frank Marcus, the Bishop of Chilaw then. It is the second parish foundation of the Blessed Sacrament Religious in Sri Lanka.

Initially the Holy Rosary Church of Bandirippawa was a substation of Boralesa. With the arrival of the SSS community it became a parish with two substations namely Galawatta and Mahawatta.

At the Beginning there had been 1,200 families now it has progressed to 1700 families.

In this foundation, several dedicated blessed sacrament religious have served over the years as parish priests and assistant parish priests, guiding the faith community with love and devotion.

These dedicated parish priests and assistant parish priests have played vital roles in the spiritual growth and community development of Our Lady of Bandirippuwa Church, guiding the faithful and fostering a strong sense of unity and devotion among the worshipers.

Since the arrival of SSS Religious many improvements have occurred in the areas of the spiritual as well as the material. As a community we thank God for all the blessings he has showered on the Parish and the number of religious who served there over the years, including the present community.
